Globe Skateboards Review – About Globe
What is Globe Skateboards? Globe skateboards refer to a brand of skateboards that have been designed and manufactured by Globe International, Inc. They are one of the world’s most popular modern brands these days.
They also specialize in sponsoring several professional skaters and other individuals who can represent their brand globally. I will be talking more about this aspect in the latter part of the globe skateboards review.
The History Globe International, Inc. was founded in 1977 by Randy Eaton and Dennis Anderson. Initially, they made high-quality footwear for roller skating which is still popular among skaters today.
However, as time went on, they realized that it is not an easy task to manufacture a shoe that can withstand the high impact of roller skating. After years of research, they came up with an idea to create a skateboard that had all the features of a shoe.
They started testing their prototypes and soon after that, they created Globe Skateboards in 1997. Their first product was called the Lancer model and it became an instant hit among skaters all over the world.
Since then, they have been designing different types of skateboards to suit the needs of global skaters. Today, Globe Skateboards is one of the most popular brands available in skate shops everywhere throughout the US and Canada.
Features of Globe Skateboards
The Globe brand offers high-quality skateboards that suit the needs of both amateurs and professionals.
They are one of the few brands that can offer their customers longboard, cruiser, and even mini decks. I will be talking more about these types of skateboards in the latter part of this article.
The following are some features that Globe Skateboards offers:
- Globe Skateboards use high-quality materials like maple and biaxial fiberglass to manufacture their decks.
- They also offer different types of wheels that can suit the needs of beginner and professional skaters.
- Most skateboard models from the Globe brand come with 3″ wide trucks which allow them to turn easily.
- The powerful bearings of Globe Skateboards allow them to perform well on rough surfaces and become more resilient over time.
- Moreover, they can offer both standard and premium decks for their customers.
Globe Skateboards Review – Quality of Construction
The quality of construction is one of the most important parts of this review. If the deck of your skateboard is not made from high-quality materials then there are chances that it can break down quickly.
The truck and bearings of Globe Skateboards are quite durable and I have personally tested them on my regular decks.
Although most of their products are solid they also offer items that contain special features like bamboo and fiberglass.
However, before that, I would like to talk about quality issues that can arise during the manufacturing process if proper care is not taken by the manufacturers.
You may have seen that most Globe skateboards are made using maple wood or biaxial fiberglass. Now both these materials are quite flexible but they can become very fragile when they are not properly laminated.
If the manufacturer takes care while manufacturing a deck then it usually lasts for several months and even years in some cases.
Now let’s talk about the different models that Globe has to offer:

Globe Skateboards VS Retrospec Skateboards
Globe skateboards are one of the most reputed boards in the world. Retrospec skateboards are equally good, but Globe tops our list for some reason.
A few years ago, I was on a hunt for a new skateboard because my old one lost its charm after high school. So, I decided to buy some spare parts and build my own board. I was on Amazon and found Globe Skateboards for just a fair price which was a steal!
I ordered it, and after a few days, I got the package. The first thing that attracted me to this board is the unique design with the amazing color scheme. The deck of this skateboard is also made from maple wood which makes it one of the most durable boards on this list.
